My Republican colleague, Iowa governor Kim Reynolds, just announced a brilliant plan to get kids back to school in person and full time. Like many of her responses to the pandemic, this one puts business first and was well thought out. This is the type of bold leadership we should expect from all our politicians. Governor Reynolds understands that children need to be supervised during the day so their parents can freely go to work and add to the Iowa economy and bolster tax revenue. And besides, as President Trump has already proven, people aren’t that concerned with caging children let alone putting kids in these deluxe individual learning pods.
